Sun Pharma launches Flugard tablet for Covid-19 treatment, priced at just Rs 35; It will be available in the market from this week:

The Flugard tablet will be able to treat patients with mild symptoms of corona in the country.

This tablet contains a dose of 200mg of Favipiravir, Favipiravir is used in the treatment of influenza.

Dilip Sanghvi's pharmaceutical company Sun Pharmaceuticals Industry on Tuesday launched the Flugard tablet for Kovid-19 patients. A tablet costs Rs 35. The Flugard tablet will be able to treat patients with mild symptoms of corona in the country. This tablet contains a dose of 200mg of Favipiravir. Favipiravir is the only drug approved in India for the treatment of Covid-19 as an anti-viral treatment.

Favipiravir is widely manufactured by the Japanese company Fujifilm Holding Corp. The company sells it in the market under the name Avigan, which is used to treat influenza.

According to Kirti Ganorkar, CEO (India Business), Sun Pharma, the way cases are increasing in the country, there is an urgent need to treat Corona patients. Health workers should also be given new options for treatment. That’s why we’re launching Fluguard. More and more patients can be treated because the drug is cheaper. This is an attempt to combat the epidemic in the country.

According to the company, Sun Pharma is working closely with the government and health workers to make FluGuard available. Starting this week, Flugard's stock will be available in the market.
