India Post's legacy carried forward with the launch of Dak-Pena: Union Minister

The Department of Post and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) on Tuesday launched its virtual digital payment app 'Dak-Pay'. The IPPB has given this information in an official statement. According to the statement, the app has been launched in an effort to provide digital financial services to every corner of the country.


These features will be available on the app

According to the statement, not only the digital payment app but it will help in digitally making available the banking services being made available to various societies across the country through the postal network from IPPB. The app will be able to send its own money (home money transfer) to scan QR codes and pay merchants digitally, pay cashless ecosystem and utility bills through bio-metrics.


IPPB provided various services during the lockdown

During the launch of the Dak-Pay app, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that IPPB has made doorstep financial services available during the lockdown due to Kovid-19. In addition, IPPB has provided post services in various ways. The Union Minister said that the legacy of India Post has been further developed with the launch of Dak-Pay.

There will be online connections to banking services and postal products

"These innovative services will provide online access to customers' banking services and postal products," he said. This is a unique concept for ordering online and delivering postal financial services to the doorstep. He hopes the app will double IPPB's online payments and home delivery of financial services.


IPPB was launched in 2018

India Post Payments Bank was launched on September 1, 2018. IPPB is providing services through 1.55 lakh post offices and 3 lakh postal employees across the country. There are 1.35 lakh post offices in rural areas. IPPB is currently offering its services in 13 languages.
