Corona cases are declining in the state. The Gujarat Kite Producers Association has filed a petition in the Gujarat High Court seeking to join as a party in the public interest litigation filed in the Gujarat High Court seeking a ban on the purchase of Uttarayan as well as the sale of kite strings. He demanded that the celebration of Uttarayan be the basis of the lifeline of thousands of people associated with the industry. The High Court should therefore not ban the celebration or sale of kite-thread. A further hearing in the case was held today. Following which the government submitted guidelines to the court.

Large numbers of people will not be able to gather on the terrace or other places. The chairman will be held accountable if a crowd gathers at the flat. Night curfews will be strictly enforced on January 11, 12, 13, and 14. Strict action will be taken against masks and social distance violations.

Kite flying is not banned, government guidelines appropriate: High Court

The High Court ruled that kite flying is not prohibited. The guidelines issued by the state government are appropriate. The kite trade was over Rs 600 crore in 2020. 1 lakh 25 thousand families feed on this festival. It is necessary to follow the guidelines issued by the state government. The government is ordered to announce the guidelines. The fourth issue out of 13 is amended. Legal action will be taken against the apartment and the secretary of the society for violating the rules.

The High Court said that it is imperative that pregnant women and persons above 65 years of age and those with co-morbidity should not go to Dhaba. We are not against any religion but we need to be vigilant enough not to spread the Koro transition.

The Advocate General said that more than Rs 640 crore worth of kites are sold in a year and more than one lakh people are employed. It is not right to deprive them of employment. We were burnt once during Diwali. It is our responsibility to see that this does not happen again.

There will be a very opposite effect on the livelihood of kite traders 

The original public interest petition submitted that kite flying should be banned from January 9 to 17 to prevent an epidemic during Uttarayan. In addition, the sale of kite strings should be banned so that people do not flock to the markets to buy kite strings. Kite makers say that if such a ban is imposed, their hard work throughout the year will be in vain and their livelihood will be adversely affected. These petitioners have also submitted that the demand made by the original applicant is tantamount to violating the constitutional rights of the kite makers.
