There Will Be A Penalty Of Rs.1000 For Linking After June 30, The Date Will Not Be Extended Further
If you are a taxpayer and you have not yet linked your Payment Account Number (PAN) to Aadhaar, get this done as soon as possible. The Central Board of Directors of Taxes (CBDT) has extended the last date for linking PAN-Aadhaar to 30 June 2021.
The date will not be extended after June
Taxpayers are often being given time to link pan-figures. But there are many taxpayers who are not linking their pen-base. According to a senior civic official, the date for linking the pan-base will not be extended beyond June 30. This is the last chance to link the pan-base without any penalty or penalty. Those who do not link the pan-base within the stipulated time will have to pay a penalty or fine.
A fine of Rs 1,000 will be levied after June 30
If a taxpayer does not link to Pan-Aadhaar by June 30, 2021, then a penalty of Rs. The government has recently amended the Income Tax Act, 1961, through a finance bill to provide for penalties. The government has added a new section 234H to the Income Tax Act to impose penalties for not linking the pan-base.
The pan will be deactivated
According to the Income Tax Department, if a taxpayer does not link his / her PAN number to Aadhaar, his / her pen will be declared inoperative. Passive pens cannot then be used in financial transactions. The bank will deduct double TDS on your income after the pen becomes inactive.
Must have a pan-support link to file a return
The central government made it mandatory to link the pan-base many years ago to monitor financial transactions. But a large number of taxpayers did not link the pen-base. Because of this, the government has made provisions for levying fines. Apart from that, the government has also made it mandatory to link the pan-base for return filing. Linking to the base is also mandatory for rocking duplicate pans.
